Finnish Association of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (Suomen Ortopedisen Manuaalisen terapian Yhdistys, SOMTY) has promoted and supported Orthopaedic Manual Therapy since 1969. The association aims to raise standards of education and practice in the field of Neuromusculoskeletal Physical Therapy, and to facilitate communication and information exchange within the field internationally and with other health professions and the general public. Finnish Association of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy also provides courses and education on Neuromusculoskeletal Physical Therapy, varying from one day courses to post-graduation specialisation program of 2,5 years.

Neuromusculoskeletal Physical Therapy is a specialised area of physiotherapy that focuses on evaluation of physical performance and management and prevention of neuromusculoskeletal conditions while encompassing the biopsychosocial framework of each individual patient. It’s based on clinical reasoning, using patient education and highly specific treatment approaches including manual techniques and therapeutic exercises.

To celebrate the 50 years of Finnish Orthopaedic Manual Therapy, we are proud to present the Celebratory Congress, held in Helsinki Finland from 22nd to 24th of August 2019. The celebratory congress presents several international and local speakers. The Congress in executed fully in English. We welcome our colleagues from all around the world to join our celebration!

We start on Thursday evening with reception of The Helsinki City at the Empire Room of the Bock's house, and continue on Friday and Saturday with fascinating presentations from highly praised professionals at Marina Congress Center.

On Friday evening the attendees have opportunity to join Celebratory Dinner with delicious food and entertainment.
