The Finnish Association of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (SOMTY) in collaboration with the Division of Anatomical Sciences of McGill University is inviting you to a unique virtual dissection workshop on the clinical relevance of human fascia.
Headshot:Dr. Gabriel Venne is a Professor of Anatomy at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the international renown McGill University. Dr. Venne is also a practicing osteopath since 2009. Dr. Venne is an expert in classical dissection. Through his clinical practice and dissections, he has developed a profound understanding of the clinical implications of the interrelationship between neurovascular structures and visceral organs within the fascial network. Dr. Venne is known for his passion and enthusiasm during workshops and dissection; you will feel engaged during your exploration through the intricacies of the human body.

Day 1 (January 22, 2022): 12h30: Introduction to the workshop and code of conduct13h00: Lecture on Fascial anatomy (micro and macro anatomy)14h00: Dissection of the superficial fascial layer of the anterior trunk and shoulder girdle15h30: Short Break15h45: Dissection of the superficial fascial layer of the posterior trunk and pelvic girdle17h30: Dinner Break18h30: Discussion on the continuity of the trunk superficial layer with the girdles20h00: Closure and remark on day 1
Day 2 (January 23, 2022): 12h30: Introduction of day 2 and remarks13h00: Dissection of the axillary region and upper limbs14h30: Discussion on the fascial connection between trunk and the axillary region15h30: Short Break15h45: Dissection of the gluteal region and lower limbs17h30: Dinner Break 18h30: Discussion on the fascial connection between trunk and gluteal region20h00: Closure of the workshop and remarks
A particular focus will be made on the multilayer organization of the fascial body, fascia continuum, fascia connections, and passage of important neurovascular structures within the fascial body.
